Welcome Kindred Kitten Rescue friends, family, and those interested in learning more about our rescue. It was through the loss of my soulmate, my little orange boy, Luke, that Kindred Kitten Rescue was born. I lost him on January 20, 2018. I tried volunteering, but that wasn't for me, so Kindred Kitten Rescue was born August 7th, 2021.
Our core principle is that we will save/feed cats anywhere we can, when we can. We've saved cats from Morocco, Philippines, United Kingdom, the Island of Roatan, Houston, Topeka, North Carolina, South Carolina, Lakeland, Florida, Middleton, Florida, Jacksonville, Florida... We are grateful for our SouthWest Airlines partner SWAP, who flies our kitties anywhere.
In the beginning, we were very focused on socializing ferals, but like most businesses, it isn't until you're actually doing it that you realize what the true challenges are. Sadly, the challenges are many, and ever changing. We will always assist with Trap, Spay, Neuter, and Release into safe communities, which prevents more kitties from being born into an already overpopulation crisis.
Our current focus, amongst many, is pulling cats, especially seniors, from shelters. We are living in a time where cats, especially adult cats, are being discarded, often thrown outside or put in shelters, including kill shelters. We provide them a beautiful, peaceful place for the rest of their life. We currently care for about 80 cats between outside and inside. Our entire upstairs is a beautiful, newly renovated sanctuary.
